Suggestions for blisters on my instep from running?

It's not my shoes, I've had this problem with any and every pair I've tried, and I've had my feet checked for fit by an athletic shoe specialist and all that.

It might be my socks--I've noticed that some socks make the blisters worse than others. Does anyone know of a really good synthetic sock that helps with blisters?

I've tried the Vaseline trick as well as different bandages and padding. Moleskin yadda yadda.

I've also noticed that they get slightly better if I only run every other day and do something like roller blade in between.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any tips would be appreciated.

Are your socks made of a wicking material? That could be part of the problem. Make sure you avoid cotton socks when you run. Pay the $10 or whatever to get a pair of running socks and take good care of them.

My preferred synthetic socks are by Wigwam and Injinji (the tetrasok is awesome to prevent blisters in between toes).

Rather than do vaseline...try bodyglide or blister shield. Vaseline is almost TOO much for your feet.
Reply:i get wicked bad blisters too.....for no friggn reason.

most of the i time i run through the PAIN.

but when they get like bloody. i just wrap them before i run...... no ointments!
