Ice skating PLZ HELP!?
If you want to change the color of the skate boot, just use Sk8tape - you can buy the white tape at the pro shop or online.

To answer your question about moving the blades - yes, you can take the blades off one pair of boots and put them on the other. Have a professional do it though - getting them aligned is tricky.

Assuming your roller skating boots are in good shape ....
Reply:No NO NO you will ruin your ice skates
Reply:seems like most of the people who answered below said no, and I agree. There is a chance that ur boots, when switched, will not fit exactly whihc will intern ruin your blades and ur boots. its better to play it safe and not switch them, but it u really want to then go to a sports store, and ask someone there whether it is permissible with ur two brand names of skates. :)
Reply:It is possible to do, but I wouldn't advise it.
Reply:Really good ice skates, like ones that usually cost over $100, have blades that are actually sold separately from the boots and can be unscrewed from the soles. I am guessing you have the kind that are riveted onto the boots. You're stuck with what you have in that case. Why not just wear them black? Does the color really matter? If it truly does, you can buy skate covers at a rink pro-shop in a multitude of colors.
Reply:Okay.. if you have roller skates and they are in great shape! with plenty of support.. like Riedell does roller skate boots.. and the holes that you created in the bottom doesn't interfier with where the blade holes need to be.. Theoreticly you can switch them over..

I think you'll find that the way you bend.. the way you use the boots.. the way they break down.. is different.. and you may need to start with a seperate boot..

As for the color of the boot.. you can always Skate Tape the boot.. changing the color as you so please.. it's durable tape.. and not to expensive.. tedious to tape it up.. but it'll work..

I would use the skate tape instead of the remounting blade to roller boats.. And FIND SOMEONE who knows what they are doing with the boots before you mount them yourself!!!!!!!!

and I didn't say someoen who's been doing it a long time.. I said someoe who know what they are doing.. 8- )

Good Luck!!!!!! New boots are GREAT!!!
Reply:No you absolutly can not. There are no experts or anyone that will do it. Because blades or only 1/8" thick you need them positioned perfectly on the boot to transfer your weight perfectly to the middle 2/3 of the blade. If you tried to use boots other than the ones that come with the skates you are risking serious injuries and probably a broken ankle.
